Why should I invest in Solar?

  • Produces clean, safe, and reliable energy every day
  • Provides a hedge against future energy rate hikes
  • Increases the value of your home
  • State rebates will pay up to 60% of the cost to install your system.
  • It's good for the environment and good for your wallet.

What happens if my system produces more energy than I need? What happens to the excess energy?

The excess energy flows back to your energy provider and actually spins your meter backwards. This process is called net metering. Whether you use the energy your system produces or not, you make money!

How much sun does a solar electric system need to generate power?

On average, Connecticut and southern New York have just as many sunny days as does the state of Florida.

What is an REC (renewable energy credit)?

Electricity from a renewable source is counted once as a kilowatt hour (kWh) which is the power you use. Renewable sources of electrical generation are given an Environment credit as well, called an REC. An REC is the Enviormental attribute of a mWh (1000kWh = 1 mWh).

What happens if the power goes out from a storm or rolling blackout?

In this case, your solar system will automatically turn off, and when the power comes back on, your system will turn itself back on automatically.

Are the rebates/incentives guaranteed?

All state cash incentives are guaranteed or your deposit will be refunded.

How much do I need to invest to own a solar electric system?

After you receive all the rebates and incentives, the total cost of the system will range between $10,000 and $30,000. The electricity produced will provide you the equivalent of an annual tax free rate of return of about 8%.

Even with all the rebates, it is very costly to purchase a solar system, so why should we invest in Solar?

It's a safe investment. According to most estimates, the sun will continue to produce energy for the next couple of million years. Your system is backed by manufacturers' warranties. As long as the sun keeps on shining, you will keep making money!

How long will my solar module last?

Solar modules that are used by the Ross Solar Group, LLC, have performance warranties of 20 or 25 years. They are expected to last at least 30 years or more.
